Recently I got a chance to visit America’s richest state “New York”. I fell in love with the place while I was landing in the night…OMG millions of glittering lights everywhere, i felt as if it was Diwali for a while. It was a lifetime experience to witness the Skylines in the night. It was even more interesting and amazing when I started to explore it from the next day. I bet “If you haven’t seen New York, you haven’t seen America at all”
This magnificent architecture is NYC landmark and is a 102 story building, its visible from any corner of the city. Following the destruction of World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building once again became the tallest building in New York City and NY State.
The Emperor of France gifted this monument to USA as a token of freedom. The Statue of Liberty conveys its message of freedom through a number of dramatic Symbols. The broken shackles at her feet signify escape from tyranny. In her left arm, she holds a tablet of law inscribed in Roman numerals the date of the American Declaration of the Independence, July 4, 1776.
Her crown’s seven rays suggest the seven seas and seven continents. Most significant of all, however, her torch and frame symbolize truth and justice enlightening the world. Perhaps no poem brings these symbols to life more than “The New Colossus”, a sonet written by Emma Lazarus in 1883, as an attempt to raise funds for the pedestal’s completion.
Total bliss!
It looks extremely beautiful in the night with those colorful bright lights that add more charm to its beauty. Just for information, NY uses 90% of electricity to light up the skylines during night. A must see view in the night is the famous “BMW” bridges namely Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges adjacent to each other. Remember these names as this is the common question asked in the qualifying round for “Who wants to be a Millionaire?” 😉
“The night tour of NY” is something you just can’t afford to miss! Brooklyn Fulton Ferry, breathtaking views of the glittering necklace of the Manhattan Skyline, night time views and charm of Empire State Building, Times Square, Chinatown, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Little Italy and the lower east side…just amazing! 🙂
I loved this place and its truly said that “If I can make it here, I can make anywhere in the World” I love New York… 🙂
